FuelSave is supplied as a dual pack system, containing BASE and HARDENER.
FuelSave can be applied to any furnace which functions at temperatures between 1750°C to 750°C. It should not be used where the solid product of the furnace is in contact with the refractory as the emissivity function would be nullified.
It can be Spayed or Brushed based on scale and nature of application.
The surface on which FuelSave will be applied should be in a sound and stable condition, free from loose dust/ash and refractory particles. No welding/ gas cutting job or any work involving naked flame to be done during application. The furnace should be well ventilated during the installation with good airflow.
FuelSave coating increases rate of heat transfer between refractory surface & stock at a given ambient furnace temperature, thus the stock is heated faster which facilitates faster throughput or the ambient furnace temperature can be lowered. Thus the rate of heating of stock or the output stock (Billet/Tile etc) temperature will increase post application.
The Heat retention inside the furnace is improved thus in case of intermittent furnaces or during an outage/ breakdown the temperature ramp down will be slower & ramp up will be faster. Will potentially lower skin temperature of the furnace.
The above factors are some of the indications which operator can observe and optimize the key parameters accordingly in order to utilize the potential benefits brought about by FuelSave with regards to increased heat transfer in the furnace.
This depends on the nature of furnace, type of stock, fuel etc but typically life of the coating 10000 to 18000 hours of high temperature exposure.
